The humimeter BL2 is a evaluation device for wood chips, round timber, split logs, sawdust, pellets, shredded olive stones, hay and straw bales.

The humimeter BL2 is a versatile moisture meter that measures the moisture of different types of wood in different shapes as well as wood chips. This is possible through interchangeable extensions.

Only a precise determination of the water content of biomass with a suitable moisture meter for wood chips and a wood moisture meter enables producers, traders and end consumers to be billed fairly.  The water content of wood chips and logs as well as the moisture content of the firewood and the moisture content of the firewood are crucial for the calorific value, so quality control during production and delivery is very important. With the humimeter BL2  System problems can be avoided and water is not bought at a high price.

With the humimeter BL2  The determination of the water content of wood chips as well as the determination of firewood moisture or firewood moisture can be carried out effortlessly and in a matter of seconds. The measured values can be measured on the humimeter BL2 Wood moisture meters can be saved and output to an external printer or transferred to a PC using the optional USB interface. The device is used with the wood chip probe as a simple moisture meter for wood chips. With the ram probe, it serves as a wood moisture meter to determine firewood moisture or firewood moisture. Further possible applications include measuring the moisture content of sawdust, pellets, shredded olive stones and bales of hay and straw.

Since the water content of wood chips, round wood and all energetic materials in a delivery can fluctuate greatly, the moisture meter is equipped with an automatic average calculation. Quickly and easily carry out several measurements one after the other, then the measuring device will immediately show you the average value. This is a very quick and efficient method to obtain accurate water content measurement results.

Handling and measurement process

Measuring process with the humimeter BL2 hammer for moisture measurement of round timber and split logs as well as for determination of firewood moisture and fireplace moisture:

Plug in the sensor cable BL2 Hammer on the device socket and fix the plug by tightening the knurled nut.
Switch on the measuring device and set the correct type of wood (characteristic curve).
To measure, choose a part of the wood WITHOUT bark, branches, pitch pockets or cracks and drive the ram electrode into the wood orthogonal to the grain. Hold the top of the electrode with one hand and push down the handhold with active force until the desired depth is reached.

The water content and the temperature are now visible on the display of the wood moisture meter.

Measuring process with the humimeter BL2 Penetration probe for wood chips, sawdust and pellets:
Connect the sensor cable of the BL2 wood chip probe to the device socket and secure the plug by tightening the knurled nut.
Switch on the humimeter BL2 and set the correct characteristic curve.
Now insert the wood chip probe straight into the wood chips with the tip first.
The water content and the temperature are now visible on the display of the wood chip log moisture meter.
