The humimeter FSW whole grain moisture meter is a high-performance instrument for the precise determination of moisture content and hectoliter weight for use in agriculture, trade, seed breeding, and the food and feed industries. The humimeter FSW is particularly suitable for measurements directly in the field.
This universally applicable measuring device is ideal for grains such as corn, wheat, durum wheat, rye, barley, oats, soybeans, rapeseed, hulled spelt, spelt in the husk, unhulled and hulled buckwheat, millet and sorghum, as well as sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, unhulled and hulled rice, brown rice, field peas, broad beans, and roasted coffee. Other varieties are available upon request.
The measured values can be stored via the integrated data logger of the moisture meter, supplemented with additional information and retrieved later.
To increase the accuracy and reproducibility of the whole grain moisture tester, measurements are performed with hectoliter compensation. The included filling funnel ensures clean operation. Moisture readings are temperature-compensated, and firmware and characteristic curve updates are easily performed via the integrated USB interface. Data can be sent directly to an optional portable thermal printer (online function).
The FSW moisture meter is calibrated according to the following reference methods:
- EN ISO 6540 for maize
- EN ISO 665 for oilseeds
- EN ISO 712 for cereals
- EN ISO 24557 for pulses and beans

Handling and measuring process
To achieve precise measurement results, the sample should be at approximately the same temperature as the device. After automatic adjustment and selection of the desired characteristic curve, the measurement process can begin. The included funnel allows for clean filling of the measuring chamber. The chamber should be filled to a shallow level; any remaining sample can be easily removed with the movable part of the funnel. The measured value is displayed within seconds of starting the measurement and can be saved on the device.
Take advantage of the non-destructive measurement method, which takes only seconds, and perform multiple measurements of the same item. The device automatically calculates the average value when the individual measurements are saved.
